Description

More dialog that is solely for the audience. Not only is it not very good because of that, it doesn't make these guys sound remotely piratey. It's like a corporate office was trained up to combat proficiency, armed, and sent out to pillage. Are guys like this the sort of men and women who'd be attracted to this line of work? Even if pirating in this era takes a certain degree of businesslike organization, these guys need to be dialed away from that a healthy bit more than this.

Another note: it's always bugged me a little that the classic "binocular view" always is the two circles overlapping a bit. When you actually look through binoculars, they overlap fully, because that's the point of binoculars. The trouble is, if you get away from that too much, the audience may not get what's going on. It's a very, very established sort of visual shorthand - I can't think of more examples off the top of my head, but it's worth thinking about. Exercise left to the reader.

snipers in movies always putting their shot exactly on the crosshair over any distance? (when in reality over any significant distance the sniper must compensate for wind and the correalis (spelling?) effect by shifting the centre of the sights...

the HUD overlay goes a long way towards telling us that it's someone looking through something...could be reinforced by a panel with them talking while still holding the binocs up to their eyes, i guess. if you take that second last panel by itself, he could be holding a VCR.

these guys are more white to our protagonist's blue...another colour hint? or just environmental? i gotta say, i think the colouring, clothing and facial expressions of all the *villians* so far hasn't done a lot to sell them as bad dudes. but for some reason, especially the colouring...the common scheme seems to bind them to the main characters somehow...
